Leave the Social Distancing to us

We’re delighted to be opening our doors for the winter season, welcoming back guests old and new. We have been working tirelessly to ensure that, during these unprecedented times, your stay in Gstaad remains as magical and safe as ever before.

According to the latest announcement of health and safety regulations in Switzerland, starting on the 17th of February 2022, the federal government has lifted the majority of measures. Masks and COVID Certificates are no longer required to access the hotel, public areas, restaurants as well as the spa. For detailed information , kindly visit the official information published by the BAG here.

We are following the health and safety regulations outlined by the World Health Organisation and local health authorities.

As Le Grand Bellevue reopens for another summer season, the hotel has been deep-cleaned and disinfected, and housekeeping staff have undergone rigorous training to align with new Covid-19 standards. All employees will be required to check their temperature before commencing their shift, ensuring the hotel remains a safe place for all.

Ozone purifiers are used in each guest room prior to check in and check out, and there will be whenever possible a 24 hour disinfection period between check-in on any one guest room. Mattresses are cleaned with UV light, hotel keys are thoroughly disinfected between each guest stay and we have hand sanitizing stations throughout the hotel.

Thanks to state-of-the-art ventilation, a regular air exchange (every 10 minutes) with fresh air is guaranteed in our signature restaurant Leonard’s and The Bar and both outlets are periodically treated with Ozone purifiers.

We have also distributed masks and gloves to all key departments in accordance with local guidelines. Additionally, guests are required to wear a face mask in all indoor public areas, with some exceptions. Staff will wear masks at all timesSafety & hygiene kits will be available to each guest room including masks, hand sanitizer and sanitization wipes.

Ensuring guest safety is prioritized at all times, we have introduced the Le Grand Bellevue App, meaning guests can virtually contact members of staff for anything they might need.

We have implemented contactless deliveries for room service, as well as a luggage and car disinfecting service.

We appreciate that we are still living in uncertain times, and you may need to postpone your holiday at the last minute, so we have revised our cancellation policy to ensure flexibility. Reservations may be cancelled up to 14 days before arrival, whereby a full refund is available.

Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival are non-refundable. In case of an early departure, you will incur the cost of the room rate for the remaining nights. For any further information, please contact our Reservations department.

We take pride in Le Grand Bellevue feeling like your home away from home, and our 57 guest rooms are spread out for maximum privacy. On any one corridor we have a maximum of another three guest rooms, allowing for as little contact as possible. We also offer the opportunity to privately hire whole corridors or floors of the hotel. We will have an electronic virtual directory in each of the rooms for hotel services and in line with local guidelines.

Hand sanitising stations are available in all communal areas of the hotel, and our housekeeping team will undertake frequent sanitisation of high-touch point areas including door handles, light switches, elevator buttons and communal bathroom touchpoints.

We have created a spacious check-in area for minimum contact with other guests, however also have in-room check in available.

We are fortunate to have an abundance of dining experiences on offer throughout the hotel, making social distancing effortless.

For those dining in our restaurants or bars (LEONARD’s, Le Petit Chalet, The Bar, The Lounge and The Sushi Bar), we have ensured that tables are arranged to allow for physical distancing, and sanitisation of tables will occur after each guest sitting. Thanks to state-of-the-art ventilation, a regular air exchange (every 10 minutes) with fresh air is guaranteed in our signature restaurant Leonard’s and The Bar.

At breakfast, we will no longer be offering a full buffet as we will enhance parts of it with additional personalized service, and the use of menus will be minimized. Contactless payments are available and encouraged at all outlets.

We also provide gourmet picnics to be enjoyed up in the mountains or out in our grounds. For any guests preferring to eat and drink in the comfort of their room, we have enhanced our Room Service menus for breakfast service.

At 3,000 sqm, Le Grand Spa is one of the largest in the region and so allows for ample distancing between guests. We will allow a maximum of two guests per wellness zone in the Thermal Oasis, and the eight saunas can be privately booked in advance to allow for maximum comfort and safety. The size of our swimming pool allows for a capacity of 25 persons to swim at any one time whilst adhering to social distancing measures.

Our gym has capacity for 28 guests to train at any one time whilst adhering to social distancing measures. We have two fitness studios – one remains for yoga classes of up to eight guests to adhere to social distancing regulations, whilst the other will be exclusively used for private training sessions with our in-house Personal Trainers.
